CHILLI COCONUT MARG

Clearly you’re a bit of a spicy girl, like me, so here’s the quickie recipe to my favourite Chilli Coconut Marg.

NB: If you’re not a spicy girl, but you’re just a tropical girl, omit the chilli and just go with the coco!

MIX

45ML OF 1800 COCONUT TEQUILA
THE JUICE 2-3 LIMES
LOTS OF ICE
DRIED CHILLI
DESICATED COCONUT
FLAKY SALT

SHAKE!

SALT RIM

GOOD QUALITY SALT FLAKES, DRIED CHILLI FLAKES AND DESICCATED COCONUT!

GARNISH WITH DEHYDRATED FRUIT!

Method

Prepare your salt mix

Mix together the salt, chilli and desicated coconut. I like to mix in bulk and pour into a jar to keep for future use. 

Ratios: be careful of your ratios! You don’t want it too spicy, or not salty enough - try starting with a ratio of 2 salt:½ chilli:1 coconut. 

Lay this out on a saucer, for easy dipping! 

Prepare your glass

I like to use an Old Fashioned style whiskey glass, because I love my Margarita over ice. 

Salt the rim by wiping a cut lime around the top of the glass, and dipping it on a plate of your salt mix. One this is done, fill the glass to the top with ice. 

The Cocktail

  1. In a shaker, juice 2-3 limes and add your tequila, ¼ tsp of chilli flakes and ½ tsp of desiccated coconut
  2. Fill the shaker with ice
  3. Shake, shake, shake! 
  4. Strain the mix into your prepped glass
  5. Add your garnish (I love a thin sliced lime, a full red chilli, sliced chilli, or some dehydrated fruit (link)!)
